iPhone 8 rumors: Apple leak suggests all-glass body, wireless charging, better camera coming
Apple's latest smart phone has only been in stores a few weeks but talk is already turning to the rollout of the iPhone 8.
Talk about the next generation phone hit a fever pitch today as reports that some Apple employees were talking about the product's development with Business Insider.
According to the reports, Cupertino, California-based Apple is building hardware for next year's iPhone model at its offices in Herzilya, Israel. It's expected the phone will be called the iPhone 8 - as opposed to the predicted iPhone 7S - and
will feature a much more comprehensive redesign than the mostly traditional-looking iPhone 6 and 7.
The iPhone 8 will likely have an improved camera, an all-glass body, edge-to-edge display and Touch ID, according to the employee. The traditional Home Button will be gone and there are rumors that the phone will be the Apple's first with wireless charging.
If Apple stays true to its history, the next smartphone will be unveiled in September 2017 – the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone.
Meanwhile, while Apple isn't releasing sales figures on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – a move that raised eyebrows on its own – vendors are reporting brisk sales of the devices.
Almost two weeks after the new iPhone release, it's still difficult to find the iPhone 7 Plus models in stores, BGR.com reports. And customers wanting Apple's new glossy color – Jet Black – are in for a wait of up to two months for the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus.
